Naval Sailor Sustains Injuries During Flight Deck Operations in Arabian Sea
A sailor serving aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln suffered injuries on March 25 while the aircraft carrier conducted flight operations in the Arabian Sea. U.S. Naval Forces Central Command confirmed that the individual was transported to a medical facility ashore and currently remains in stable condition. Officials stated that the injuries are not life-threatening, though the specific circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation.
The USS Abraham Lincoln is actively participating in Operation Epic Fury, a military campaign that began in late February following a series of strikes against Iran. Originally deployed from San Diego for an Indo-Pacific mission, the carrier strike group was redirected to the Middle East as regional tensions escalated into open conflict. This incident occurs amid a broader period of high-intensity operations for U.S. forces in the region. Since the start of the war, nearly 300 U.S. troops have sustained injuries, with 13 service members killed in action. The carrier continues its mission as part of a larger strike group that includes several destroyers and Carrier Air Wing 9.
