Advocacy Group Mobilizes Nationwide Protests Following Million-Signature Impeachment Petition
The organization Free Speech For People has launched a full-page advertisement in The New York Times to amplify a growing national demand for the impeachment and removal of Donald Trump. This campaign, which highlights a petition signed by over one million Americans, serves as a precursor to the "No Kings" protests scheduled for March 28. Organizers intend for these demonstrations to be the largest mass-mobilization in United States history, with more than 3,000 actions planned globally to challenge what they describe as an increasingly lawless presidential administration.
The push for removal centers on constitutional arguments regarding the abuse of executive power and threats against democratic institutions. Momentum for this movement has surged since December 2025, when 140 members of Congress voted to advance articles of impeachment introduced by Representative Al Green. This legislative action represented a significant increase in support compared to previous attempts, signaling heightened concern among lawmakers regarding the president’s conduct toward federal judges and members of the legislative branch. By utilizing both traditional media and grassroots organizing, the coalition aims to pressure Congress to invoke the Impeachment Clause as a necessary remedy to restore the rule of law and protect the constitutional order.
