Wisconsin Mother Faces Murder Charges After Claiming She Killed Daughter to Shield Her From Elon Musk

Tyiece Oninski, a 41-year-old Wisconsin resident, faces first-degree murder charges following the death of her 14-year-old daughter, Kuren Rein. Authorities discovered the teenager’s body in their Town of Turtle home on March 20 after Oninski contacted the Rock County Communications Center. During a lengthy non-emergency call, the mother admitted to the killing and claimed she acted to protect her child from billionaire Elon Musk. Responding deputies arrived at the residence to find the victim deceased from multiple stab wounds, while Oninski appeared to have self-inflicted injuries.

The criminal complaint indicates that Oninski requested a hearse for her daughter during the call, asserting that the girl was already beyond medical help. Upon arrival, law enforcement officials recovered a knife and sheath at the scene. Toxicology reports conducted at the hospital revealed that Oninski tested positive for benzodiazepines, amphetamines, and THC. Currently held on a $1 million bond, the defendant is scheduled to appear in court on April 14 to address the charges. The tragic incident highlights the intersection of severe mental health crises and the influence of public figures on individuals experiencing detachment from reality.
