Kentucky Man Faces Attempted Murder Charges Following Xenophobic Cleaver Attack
Jeremiah Page, a 30-year-old Louisville resident, remains in custody following a brutal, unprovoked attack on a pedestrian on the 7300 block of Preston Highway. On Monday evening, authorities allege that Page approached an unsuspecting man and struck him multiple times in the head and shoulder with a cleaver. Witnesses and surveillance footage captured the violent encounter, which left the victim with life-threatening injuries. Responding officers apprehended Page near the scene while he was still in possession of the weapon.
During questioning, Page reportedly confessed to the assault and provided a xenophobic motive for his actions. He claimed the victim was trespassing on his property and stated he targeted the individual specifically because he was a foreigner. Additionally, the suspect made bizarre assertions that he held ownership over the entire city of Louisville. Page now faces charges of attempted murder and first-degree assault. He appeared in court on Tuesday, where a judge set his bond at $750,000. He is scheduled to return for further proceedings on April 17. The victim is currently receiving medical treatment for his injuries, and his condition remains a primary concern for local law enforcement.
