Wisconsin Man Sentenced for Role in Disturbing Child Abuse Case Involving Clown Mask

Jalil Wilson, 28, received a sentence of 45 days in jail and three years of supervised probation for his involvement in the abuse of a three-year-old child in Winona, Minnesota. Wilson pleaded guilty to a charge of false imprisonment with intentional restraints after prosecutors dropped an initial count of child torture. Under the terms of his sentencing, the jail term may be waived if Wilson maintains full-time employment for two weeks prior to his scheduled reporting date in May.

The investigation into the abuse began after authorities discovered graphic video evidence on a social media account belonging to co-defendant Joseline Gunderson. One recording captured Wilson wearing a clown mask while dragging the toddler across the floor after the child had been bound with duct tape. Additional footage revealed the victim being confined in a closet and restrained in a chair. Gunderson reportedly informed investigators that the abuse served as a form of punishment for the toddler’s behavior toward a younger sibling.

This case involves three individuals, with Gunderson having already faced sentencing. A third suspect, Atzavesta Williams, faces pending charges and is slated to appear in court on May 14. The discovery of the abuse occurred after Gunderson’s coworkers alerted law enforcement to the disturbing content she had shared with them.
