Arkansas Couple Accused of Infanticide After Infant’s Tragic Death

A 23-year-old Arkansas mother and her boyfriend are facing serious charges after their 2-month-old son was found dead under alleged circumstances of abuse. Authorities claim that Gabrielle Elaine Ayers and Timothy Mark Martin failed to seek medical help for the infant despite visible injuries, leading to his death on January 3, 2025.

According to police reports, paramedics were called to a residence in Pine Bluff after an unresponsive infant was reported. Upon arrival, they found Sebastian Ayers cold to the touch and attempted CPR as he was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Medical examiners later determined that the baby suffered craniocerebral trauma, including a skull fracture and subdural hemorrhage, which were classified as "inflicted traumatic injuries."

Witnesses revealed that Sebastian had been injured earlier in December 2024 during a visit with his parents at a relative's home. A photograph showed severe bruising on the infant's face, prompting an autopsy to confirm the fatal injuries. Martin allegedly admitted to striking the baby while removing him from a car seat on December 21, stating he was intoxicated and frustrated at the time. Both Ayers and Martin reportedly refused medical care for Sebastian despite being aware of his condition.

A female acquaintance of the family described Martin as having a "temper" and recalled giving the infant Tylenol to ease his pain after the alleged beating. Authorities believe the couple knew their son was seriously injured but chose not to seek help, leading to his death. Ayers is currently in custody on $100,000 bond, while Martin remains at large. The case has shocked the community and raised questions about the responsibility of caregivers.
