Brother Allegedly Stabbed to Death Over Kitchen Cleaning Dispute
MINNEAPOLIS (DarkWireNews) — A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of his brother, authorities reported. The incident occurred early Monday morning, April 30, when police responded to a 911 call from a woman who stated her boyfriend was unconscious and seriously injured. Upon arrival, officers attempted lifesaving measures but pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
According to reports, the altercation began during an argument over cleaning the kitchen. The victim’s brother, identified as Javontae Simms, allegedly confronted him, warning, “If you don’t start cleaning up after yourself, it’s going to be an issue between you and me.” Shortly after, Simms left the kitchen, returned with a knife, and a physical altercation ensued. Simms is accused of stabbing his brother in the chest during the fight.
Following the stabbing, Simms allegedly hid under the stairs in the basement to evade police. When authorities arrived, he reportedly told them he intended to pretend to stab his brother but claims the victim ran into the knife by accident. Simms was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, with bail set at $1 million.
This case highlights a tragic escalation of what appeared to be a minor household dispute. The incident underscores the potential dangers of unresolved conflicts, even over seemingly trivial matters like household chores. Authorities are continuing their investigation, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
