Michigan Man Receives Decades-Long Prison Term for Murdering Wife and Concealing Remains in Welded Tank
A Michigan judge has sentenced 58-year-old Dale Warner to up to 70 years in prison for the murder of his wife, Dee Warner. The sentencing follows a conviction on charges of second-degree murder and tampering with evidence. Dee Warner disappeared from the couple’s home in April 2021, sparking a three-year search that culminated in the discovery of her remains inside a sealed, industrial-style tank located on their property. Prosecutors presented evidence during the trial indicating that the victim was beaten and strangled before being placed inside the container, which had been welded shut to conceal the crime.
Throughout the years following her disappearance, Dale Warner maintained that his wife had abandoned the family without notice. He reportedly misled friends and relatives, going as far as to isolate their youngest child from other family members by claiming that the victim had moved abroad to start a new life. During the sentencing hearing, family members delivered emotional impact statements, condemning the defendant for his deception and the brutality of his actions. While the defense characterized Warner as a community-minded individual, the court emphasized the gravity of the offense. Judge Michael Olsaver ultimately imposed consecutive sentences, ensuring that Warner remains incarcerated for the foreseeable future for his role in the tragic death of his wife.
