Texas Couple Charged After Wife Allegedly Helps Husband Kill Over Failed Business Deal
A Texas woman and her husband now face serious charges after authorities allege she assisted him in killing two men following a botched business deal. Ae Son Han, 67, is accused of murder, while her 69-year-old husband, Seung Ho Han, faces two counts of capital murder and three counts of aggravated assault.
The Carrollton Police Department responded to a shooting at the K Towne Plaza in the 4000 block of State Highway 121 around 10 a.m. on May 5. Upon arrival, they found four individuals with gunshot wounds. One victim, Sung Rae Cho, died at the scene, while the other three survived. Approximately an hour later, cops were called to another shooting location about half a mile away in the 2700 block of Denton Road, where they discovered Edward Schleigh deceased.
According to arrest affidavits obtained by local media, Seung Ho Han reportedly admitted to shooting all five victims. He owns a sushi restaurant in the plaza and was involved in a business deal with one of the surviving victims, who allegedly increased the rent on his restaurant space. Han claimed he had given $70,000 to Edward Schleigh for a Georgia property investment, but the deal fell through, leaving him feeling financially wronged.
Ae Son Han is accused of aiding her husband at both crime scenes. Surviving victims told cops that after being shot, one asked Ae Son to call 911. She allegedly responded, “Why aren’t you dead yet? You should have been the first one dead. You are the worst one,” before leaving the scene. Dashcam video recovered by authorities showed Seung Ho Han asking his wife to contact Schleigh to confirm if he was home.
After carrying out the shootings, the couple drove to a McDonald’s drive-thru to order drinks. Ae Son later traveled to Minnesota but was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service and is now awaiting extradition to Texas.
This case highlights a tragic turn of events stemming from a failed business deal, leading to violence and the involvement of both husband and wife in the alleged crimes.
