Florida Security Guard Allegedly Attempts to Kill Wife Twice in One Night
---
A 66-year-old security guard from Miami-Dade is facing serious charges after allegedly attempting to kill his wife twice in a single night. On May 16, the suspect, identified as Fael Francois, is reported to have first smothered his wife with a pillow while she was asleep. When she managed to escape, he then retrieved a firearm and pointed it at her head, stating, "Today you’re going to die." However, the gun failed to fire as there was no magazine inserted.
The victim, whose name has not been released, reportedly called her sister for help after freeing herself from the initial attack. Francois, overhearing the call, returned with the gun and attempted to shoot again but was unsuccessful. He then allegedly struck her with an object before attempting to retrieve the gun once more. The victim fled to a backyard shed and contacted 911, leading to Francois's arrest without incident.
Francois has denied the allegations and is currently in custody, with a judge denying his bond request. He faces charges of attempted murder with a firearm, aggravated assault, and domestic battery. This case highlights the severity of domestic violence incidents and underscores the importance of immediate intervention to prevent further harm.
