Missouri Man Sentenced to Life After Decapitating Mother While High on Meth
TREVOR JOHN HUBER, a 43-year-old man from Cardwell, Mo., has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the first-degree murder of his mother. The shocking crime occurred on December 21, 2018, when authorities responded to Huber’s home after receiving a disoriented call from him. Upon arrival, officers found Huber naked and under the influence of methamphetamine. Inside, they discovered the body of Charlotte Wilson, Huber’s 63-year-old mother, who had been decapitated.
During police questioning, Huber confessed to killing his mother, stating he believed she was poisoning him due to his meth use the previous day. He even wrote a note admitting guilt before swallowing it. Authorities recovered Wilson’s head and a blood-stained hammer from Huber’s residence, which they believe was used in the crime.
Following a two-day trial, a jury found Huber guilty of first-degree murder on May 19, 2023. The case has drawn significant attention due to its brutal nature and the defendant’s mental state at the time of the crime. This verdict underscores the severe consequences of violent crimes committed under the influence of substances like methamphetamine.
