Arizona Man Faces Multiple Felony Charges After Morgue Intrusion and Desecration of Remains
Authorities in Maricopa County have taken 31-year-old Fenris Lu into custody following a disturbing security breach at the local medical examiner’s office. Law enforcement officials responded to reports of a burglary at the facility, where surveillance footage allegedly captured the suspect opening 11 body bags and engaging in sexual acts with four deceased individuals. Officers discovered Lu inside the building during their search and promptly arrested him. He now faces a series of serious charges, including four counts of necrophilia, burglary, possession of burglary tools, criminal damage, and attempted escape from custody.
The incident has prompted a sensitive notification process, as prosecutors work to inform the families of the victims involved. While court records remain sealed to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation, officials have confirmed that Lu’s bond is currently set at $500,000. The suspect did not appear at his initial court hearing due to his status as a high-profile and combative detainee. As the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office continues to process the scene and gather evidence, the community awaits further developments ahead of Lu's next scheduled court appearance on May 29. Authorities have declined to provide additional specifics regarding the breach out of respect for the families affected by this event.
