Texas Nanny Fights Off Attacker with Baseball Bat to Protect Toddler
A Texas nanny was brutally attacked by a man wielding a baseball bat while walking a 2-year-old child in Sugar Land, a suburb of Houston. The incident occurred on Friday morning around 10 a.m., when the woman noticed a suspicious SUV driving against traffic and stopping near her. She became alarmed upon seeing a baseball bat inside the vehicle.
The attacker emerged from the car and immediately began swinging the bat at the nanny, striking her multiple times as she attempted to flee with the child in tow. Despite sustaining severe injuries, including broken bones in her forearm, the nanny managed to shield the toddler from harm throughout the assault. Her efforts to protect the child included raising her arm to block further blows aimed at her head.
The suspect fled the scene after drawing attention by the nanny's screams for help. A passerby eventually found the injured woman and called emergency services. She is currently hospitalized, with injuries that may require up to six months of recovery time. Police are investigating the motive behind this unprovoked attack and searching for surveillance footage from nearby areas to identify the suspect, who they describe as a man in his 30s or 40s with a heavy build and driving an older-model SUV.
