Idaho Mother Indicted for Murder After Claiming Vaccines Killed Her Twins

A 23-year-old mother from Payette, Idaho, has been indicted on two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of her 18-month-old twin sons, Dallas and Tyson. According to a grand jury indictment filed June 29, Andrea Shaw is accused of suffocating the twins in May 2025. Police were called to their home after receiving reports that one child was possibly dead; both twins were found deceased in their shared bed.

Following the tragic incident, Shaw and her husband appeared on an anti-vaccine advocacy podcast, asserting that vaccines had caused the deaths of their children. Despite this claim, medical experts involved with the case have not substantiated a link between vaccinations and the cause of death. Shaw's attorney, Joseph Filicetti, maintains his belief in vaccine-related fatalities but acknowledges he is not medically qualified to make such determinations.

Shaw was arrested on June 30 without incident and is currently being held on a $2 million bond. She delivered another child shortly before her arrest on June 25; the baby is now under her husband's care. The case has drawn significant attention due to its intersection with anti-vaccine advocacy, highlighting ongoing debates about vaccine safety and misinformation in parenting communities.

The indictment underscores the serious legal consequences faced by individuals who make unsubstantiated claims about vaccines following tragic events involving their children.
