U.S. F-22 Raptors Return to England After Deploying in Israel for Conflict with Iran

The United States Air Force has withdrawn its fleet of ten F-22 Raptors from Ovda Air Base in Israel and redeployed them to RAF Fairford in the United Kingdom on Friday morning local time. These stealth fighter jets, originally dispatched to Israel since late February as part of Operation Epic Fury, were involved in strategic attacks against Iran's military infrastructure and nuclear facilities. The move marks a significant shift in U.S. military posture amid heightened tensions in the Middle East.

RAF Fairford has long served as a critical hub for transatlantic U.S. military aircraft movements, facilitating rapid deployment and redeployment of forces across Europe and the Middle East. This latest relocation follows similar operations earlier this month when B-52 Stratofortress bombers were withdrawn from RAF Fairford after their deployment in support of Epic Fury.

Aviation enthusiasts and local spotters reported observing the F-22 Raptors arriving at RAF Fairford in three distinct waves, accompanied by aerial refueling tanker support. The jets' movements were closely monitored by online flight trackers, providing real-time updates on their journey from Israel to England.

During their deployment, the F-22s played a crucial role in executing precision missions against Iranian air defenses and strategic targets linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Over nine days of operations, these stealth fighters flew over 200 combat sorties while evading detection by Iran's radar networks. The Raptors employed advanced weaponry such as GBU-39/B Small Diameter Bombs and GBU-32 Joint Direct Attack Munitions to target critical infrastructure associated with the Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant and Natanz Nuclear Facility, significantly impacting Iran’s military capabilities.
