Alabama Teen Charged as Adult in Mother's Death and Father's Wounding During Discipline Dispute

In Baldwin County, Alabama, a 17-year-old boy has been charged with murder and attempted murder after allegedly stabbing his mother to death and severely injuring his father during an argument over discipline. Upon arrival, deputies found Samantha Baker, 37, dead from stab wounds at the scene while her husband Lance Baker, 46, was critically injured and airlifted to a hospital for treatment. According to authorities, the couple's older son, identified as Brandon Baker, is suspected of carrying out the attack.

The alleged stabbing unfolded both inside and outside the family home, extending across multiple yards and into neighboring properties. Samantha worked as a realtor, and Lance held the position of Battalion Commander with the 1184th Deployment and Distribution Support Battalion in Mobile, Alabama.
