Washington State Man Kills Four, Including Mother, in Violent Attack

A tragic incident unfolded last week in Washington state when Aleksander Shablykin, 32, fatally stabbed his mother, Zoya Shablykina, and three other women who attempted to intervene. Pierce County deputies responded to the scene after receiving a call about Shablykin violating a no-contact order his mother had obtained against him. The order, issued in May, had not yet been served, prompting deputies to retrieve a copy before heading to the address.

While en route, a second call reported a man stabbing individuals outside the residence. Deputies arrived to find Shablykin actively engaged in the stabbings and subsequently shot and killed him. Three victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while a fourth succumbed to her injuries at a hospital. The other victims were identified as Joanne Brandani, 59, Louise Talley, 81, and Stephanie Killilea, 67.

Court records reveal Zoya Shablykina had secured a one-year protection order against her son due to his mental health and substance abuse issues, detailing threats, emotional abuse, property damage, and harm to her cat. The order mandated Shablykin maintain distance from his mother and her property, refrain from possessing dangerous weapons, and comply with a mental health plan. He failed to appear at the hearing for this order, which ultimately remained unserved before the fatal attack.
