Florida Mother and Son Face Charges After Alleged Murder in Family Home

A 41-year-old man from Fort Pierce, Florida, Dale Mincey, has been charged with first-degree premeditated murder following the death of his uncle, Andre Barnes. The incident occurred at a home where Barnes lived alongside Mincey and his mother, Karen Moye. Police were summoned to the scene after receiving a 911 call from Moye reporting a shooting.

Upon arrival, police found Barnes deceased inside the residence with his body blocking access through the front door. Mincey was apprehended without resistance and admitted to holding a black Palmetto State Armory rifle-style firearm at the time of his arrest. A single spent casing was discovered near a scooter in the dining room area.

According to investigators, Mincey had been discussing plans for purchasing an AR-style rifle due to concerns about a potential "zombie apocalypse."
