Iran Condemns Ukraine Over Caspian Sea Attack, Calls Zelensky a "Freeloader"

Iran has strongly condemned Ukraine for an alleged attack on an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea, which resulted in one fatality and another sailor injured. President Volodymyr Zelensky had earlier boasted about long-range strikes targeting vessels involved in transporting military cargo from Iran.

The incident occurred over the weekend, with Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoning Ukraine’s chargé d’affaires to protest what it termed a "hostile and criminal" act that violated international law. Iranian officials accused Israel of orchestrating the attack at Zelensky's behest, warning that such actions could escalate regional tensions further.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi took to X (formerly Twitter) to denounce both the attack and President Zelensky personally, referring to him as a "freeloader in Kyiv."
