Nevada Parents Sentenced for Hiding Dead 3-Year-Old Daughter's Body After Killing Her

Ricky Beasley and Lakeia Walker, parents from Las Vegas, have been sentenced nearly a decade after their daughter Zaela Walker went missing in 2018. Prosecutors alleged that the couple murdered the young girl when she was three years old because she had wet herself, leading to her tragic death.

According to court documents and local media reports, Beasley threw Zaela against a wall out of anger over the accident. The incident caused severe trauma or health issues that ultimately led to her death. Walker later admitted during police interrogations that she heard about the violent act from Beasley and assisted him in disposing of the body.

The case gained significant attention when Beasley's mother came forward as a witness, revealing crucial details about what had happened on the day Zaela disappeared. The grandmother testified that she saw Beasley carrying his crying daughter after hearing a loud thud, indicating physical abuse. This testimony was corroborated by evidence suggesting that Beasley and Walker attempted to cover up their actions by cleaning out a vehicle trunk where they hid Zaela's body.

Beasley pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and received a sentence ranging from 10 to 25 years in prison, while Walker admitted to being an accessory after the fact and was given probation with a suspended two-to-five-year jail term if she violates the conditions.
