Idaho Teen Admits to Intentionally Running Over Rival in Love Triangle

An 18-year-old woman from Nampa, Idaho, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder for allegedly intentionally running over a 19-year-old rival in a parking lot confrontation. The incident occurred early Sunday morning when Alissa Mae Huerta struck Jade Aliyah Ramirez with her car after a months-long dispute over a shared romantic interest.

According to the Nampa Police Department, officers were called to the scene at approximately 4:20 a.m., where they found Ramirez suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was rushed to a local hospital but later pronounced dead. Initially, police did not have enough evidence to charge anyone with a crime, but further investigation revealed that Huerta had admitted her actions in deleted Snapchat messages.

Court documents obtained by the Idaho Statesman detail how the conflict began in February when Ramirez confronted Huerta for having an intimate relationship with the father of Ramirez's child. Over the following months, the two women exchanged numerous threatening messages before agreeing to meet at a Nampa parking lot to settle their dispute physically.

During the confrontation, Ramirez reportedly arrived carrying a baseball bat and struck Huerta’s car, breaking the driver-side window and damaging the windshield. Police say that despite this, Huerta intentionally accelerated her vehicle into Ramirez, causing severe injuries that led to her death.

Witness video footage and evidence from Huerta's cellphone contradicted her initial claim of accidental collision. In recovered audio recordings, Huerta admitted to running over Ramirez, saying, "I ran her over, though. I'm not going to lie," and in another recording, she stated, "My sister said like I deada— ran her over."

These admissions were crucial in building the case against Huerta, who was subsequently arrested and charged with first-degree murder. She appeared before a judge on Tuesday and remains incarcerated as of Wednesday evening.

The tragic incident highlights the dangerous escalation that can occur from personal disputes, especially those fueled by romantic jealousy. The ongoing legal proceedings will determine the full extent of Huerta's responsibility for Ramirez’s death.
