
SEOPS Space Adds Second Waymaker Mission for 2028 Amid Surge in Satellite Demand
SEOPS Space, a leading commercial space launch company, has announced the addition of a second Waymaker mission scheduled for 2028. This decision comes as a direct response to unprecedented demand from satellite operators seeking reliable and flexible launch options. The inaugural Waymaker-1 mission was already at 90% payload capacity, prompting SEOPS to plan an additional flight.
Both missions—Waymaker-1 and Waymaker-2—are set to launch aboard SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket in early and late 2028, respectively. This move underscores SEOPS's capability to manage complex commercial space launches from planning through deployment on predictable schedules. Launching satellites into GTO enables them to drift into geostationary orbit for long-term use, a capability highly sought after by science and defense applications.
