Indiana Woman Arrested for Orchestrating Brutal Attack That Left Man with Collapsed Lung
A 41-year-old woman from Indiana has been arrested and charged with orchestrating a violent assault that left an unsuspecting victim severely injured. According to court documents obtained by The Star Press, Robin Naomi Jackson allegedly led two male accomplices, one of whom is believed to be her juvenile son, in a brutal attack on a sleeping man.
The incident occurred at a home located in the 800 block of North Jefferson Street. Police reports indicate that Jackson woke the victim by kicking his bed and then instructed her associates to beat him. The victim sustained multiple injuries including broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and a deep cut near his left eye socket during the assault.
Jackson is currently facing several felony charges, including burglary and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, as well as battery resulting in serious bodily injury, possession of methamphetamine, residential entry, and neglect of a dependent. She was arrested during a traffic stop the day after the attack, with a young child present in her vehicle.
The victim told investigators that he believes the assault stemmed from an earlier dispute between Jackson and his wife. Approximately one month prior to this incident, the victim's wife had been hospitalized after being choked by Jackson with significant force.
Emergency medical personnel transported the severely injured man to Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital for treatment. Upon arrival, doctors found him struggling to breathe due to a collapsed lung and other severe injuries.
Jackson was booked into Delaware County Jail following her arrest. As of Friday afternoon, she remained in detention on an $18,000 bond and is scheduled to appear for her initial hearing on August 28th. The two men involved in the assault have not yet been apprehended or identified publicly.
This case highlights the serious consequences that can arise from domestic disputes spilling over into violent criminal acts. The severity of Jackson's alleged actions underscores the need for effective intervention and support systems to prevent such incidents from escalating to lethal levels.
