Parents Arrested for Torturing and Attempting to Kill 15-Year-Old Daughter in Alabama

Parents Eric McClure, 41, and Cynthia Tedder, 36, from Flomaton, Alabama, have been arrested on charges of attempted murder and torture after allegedly attempting to kill their 15-year-old daughter. The girl was admitted to Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, in critical condition following the abuse.

According to police reports, officers responded to a call at 5:13 a.m. on September 1 regarding the teenager's admission to the hospital. Upon investigation, authorities executed a search warrant at the family home in Alabama and found that other children living there were in dire conditions. These siblings were immediately placed into state custody by the Department of Human Resources.

Flomaton Police Chief Justin Hetrick stated that the department received information from the Pensacola Police Department about possible child abuse or neglect involving a 15-year-old girl. This led to an extensive investigation, which uncovered evidence severe enough for authorities to obtain arrest warrants for McClure and Tedder on charges of torture and willful abuse.

Following further developments in the case, both parents were also charged with attempted murder as new evidence emerged during the ongoing investigation. The couple remains detained at Florida's Escambia County Jail pending extradition back to Alabama's Escambia County Jail. A court date is expected once they are transferred back to their home state.

A neighbor who had known the family for years described seeing the children in public and noted that they appeared unclean and malnourished, with a noticeable odor emanating from them. The neighbor also reported observing roaches running freely around the home's interior during visits there.

The Flomaton Police Department has stated that no further information will be released to protect the privacy of the victim and maintain the integrity of the ongoing investigation. Authorities emphasize that their primary concern is ensuring the safety and well-being of all involved parties, particularly the 15-year-old girl who remains hospitalized in critical condition.
