Florida Teen Accused of Beating and Ignoring Dying Girlfriend Before Covering Her Body

A 19-year-old man from Columbia County, Florida, has been arrested for allegedly beating his girlfriend to death before dismissing her as "playing around" while she lay dying. Isaiah Campbell is charged with murder after a domestic violence call led police to the couple's residence early Thursday morning.

According to an arrest report obtained by local authorities, Nicole Lopez, 21, was found unresponsive and cold in their home’s kitchen when deputies arrived at approximately 4:30 a.m. Campbell had called emergency services earlier that morning around 4:19 a.m., reporting his girlfriend was not breathing.

During questioning, Campbell described a violent altercation with Lopez that began as an argument over her striking him in the chest and arm. He admitted to becoming enraged and repeatedly hitting Lopez in the face before she fell to the floor, claiming she had said she felt lightheaded.

Campbell stated he then left the room for about 30 minutes to calm down, believing his girlfriend was merely seeking attention through her behavior. When he returned, he found Lopez unresponsive on the kitchen floor and attempted CPR for an hour before covering her body with a white sheet because "he was tired of looking at her."

Investigators discovered multiple puncture wounds consistent with stab injuries on Lopez’s body, along with blood spatter throughout the house. Blood stains were also noted under Campbell's fingernails and on his shoes.

Campbell is currently being held without bond at the Columbia County Detention Facility pending further investigation into the circumstances of Lopez's death. The case has drawn significant attention due to the callous nature of Campbell’s alleged actions towards his dying partner.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns about domestic violence and the severe consequences that can result from such abuse, underscoring the importance of recognizing warning signs and seeking help in potentially dangerous situations.
