Man Arrested for Pushing Ex-Girlfriend and Baby Off 15th-Floor Balcony in New York

A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder after allegedly pushing his ex-girlfriend and their infant daughter off a 15th-story balcony in the Bronx, New York. The incident occurred early on October 6 when police were alerted to screams coming from an apartment building.

Upon arrival at approximately 3:40 a.m., officers found Nathaly Ramirez, 23, and her eight-month-old daughter Angel Novalty Carrasco-Ramirez lying injured outside the building. Medical personnel pronounced Ramirez dead shortly after she was taken to the hospital, while her baby girl sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

According to investigators, witnesses reported hearing loud screams from inside the apartment before the fall occurred. The mother reportedly held her child tightly as they fell, potentially mitigating some of the impact and possibly saving her daughter's life.

The suspect in this case is Angel Carrasco, Ramirez’s ex-boyfriend who is also the father of their baby girl. He fled the scene immediately after the incident but was apprehended by U.S. Marshals at a friend's home on October 7.

U.S. Marshal Ricky J. Patel expressed deep sorrow over the tragic event, emphasizing that his team worked tirelessly to ensure justice for Ramirez and her daughter. "This horrific tragedy weighs heavily on every member of our team," he stated. "We owed it to Nathaly Ramirez, who sacrificed everything to protect her child from a violent individual."

Carrasco has a history of domestic violence-related offenses. In January 2026, he was charged with slapping Ramirez and later accused of breaking into her apartment to wait for her. Additionally, Ramirez had previously been involved in threatening another ex-girlfriend via text messages.

Ramirez’s friend Dominique Rosado highlighted the heroic act Nathaly performed in her final moments: "In the last moment of her life, she was protecting her daughter. That's what it means to be a mother." This sentiment underscores the profound impact and sacrifice made by Ramirez to save her child from harm.
