NATO Intercepts Iranian Ballistic Missile Over Turkish Airspace

NATO defense systems successfully shot down an Iranian ballistic missile that entered Turkish airspace on Monday, according to Turkey's defense ministry. The interception occurred over the eastern Mediterranean, with debris from the projectile landing in empty fields within Turkey's southern Gaziantep province. No damage or casualties resulted from the incident.

This marks the second time a missile targeting Turkey has been intercepted since the United States and Israel initiated military strikes against Iran on February 28. In response to those strikes, Iran has launched a series of missiles and drones at various nations across the region. Turkey's defense ministry emphasized its commitment to regional peace and stability but reiterated its resolve to act decisively against any threats to its territory or airspace.
