
Teen Intervenes in Alleged Domestic Assault, Father Faces Charges
A 13-year-old boy in Foley, Alabama, reportedly intervened in a domestic dispute on March 9, allegedly striking his father who was accused of attempting to strangle his mother. Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a residence where Daniel Hernandez-Lopez, 32, had reportedly argued with his wife. Authorities indicate Hernandez-Lopez then allegedly tried to strangle her. This incident highlights the severe risks associated with domestic violence and the desperate measures individuals may take to protect family members.
Following the alleged assault, the couple's son confronted Hernandez-Lopez outside the home. Reports indicate Hernandez-Lopez then allegedly threw a bicycle at the teenager, who responded by punching his father multiple times in the face, potentially rendering him unconscious before law enforcement arrived. Hernandez-Lopez was reportedly under the influence of narcotics when the initial argument began.
Hernandez-Lopez was subsequently arrested the day after the incident and faces a domestic violence charge. He has been booked into jail following the events.
