University of Virginia Launches Landmark Study on Neurodivergence and Unconventional Communication

The University of Virginia's Division of Perceptual Science (DOPS) is undertaking a pioneering study to investigate the potential connections between neurodivergent experiences and what are termed "anomalous communication" or telepathic phenomena. This research marks the first known study specifically designed to explore unusual forms of perception and communication that fall outside conventional scientific understanding. The initiative aims to provide a more nuanced comprehension of individuals whose ways of processing information and experiencing the world differ from typical societal norms.

The study welcomes participation from a broad range of individuals, including adults and minors (with parental consent), who report experiencing or have observed unusual, intuitive, or extraordinary forms of communication and awareness. This includes those who identify as neurodivergent, encompassing conditions like autism, ADHD, and dyslexia, as well as individuals who have had experiences that defy easy explanation. The research also seeks input from close associates, such as family members, friends, or therapists, who can offer observational perspectives on these phenomena, recognizing the value of multiple viewpoints in understanding these complex experiences.
