Texas Man Faces Capital Murder Charges Following Fatal Domestic Attack in Conroe

A 57-year-old Texas man is in custody without bond after allegedly driving his truck into a Conroe residence and fatally shooting his estranged wife and mother-in-law on Sunday. Montgomery County deputies arrived at the scene shortly after 2 p.m. following a frantic 911 call from one of the victims, during which dispatchers reportedly heard gunfire. Despite an immediate law enforcement response, both 57-year-old Tara Hardin and Floris Wolford were pronounced dead at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds.

The suspect, identified as Stanley Earl Hardin, fled the residence on foot before reportedly convincing his son to drive him back to his own home. Authorities apprehended him there without further incident. Sheriff Wesley Doolittle noted that the couple had recently separated, highlighting the volatile nature of the situation. The sheriff’s office is now urging individuals who feel threatened during domestic disputes to seek assistance from local support resources, such as the Montgomery County Women’s Shelter. Hardin currently faces charges of capital murder as investigators continue to process the evidence surrounding this violent domestic tragedy.
