Wyoming Man Accused of Threatening to Decapitate Wife and Injuring Son in Violent Altercation
Travis Scott Warren, 41, is behind bars after being accused of a string of violent acts against his wife and their 12-year-old son during an argument that escalated into chaos. The incident occurred on March 7 in Green River, Wyoming, when police were called to the family home following reports of domestic violence.
Warren faces four counts of domestic battery, three counts of aggravated assault, and one count of child abuse, according to court records. Authorities allege that during the altercation, Warren threatened to "saw off" his wife's head with a knife and injured their son's wrist when the boy intervened to protect his mother. The son told officers that he stepped in to stop his father, leading to a struggle where Warren allegedly snapped the child's wrist.
The woman described a harrowing scene of escalating violence, including being struck with an olive oil bottle, punched in the head, and threatened with a broom. She also recounted how Warren attempted to "spear" her with a broom before she managed to escape. The affidavit details multiple instances of threats, including one where Warren allegedly told her he would cut off her head while they were in the bathroom.
Warren was arrested the following day and initially booked on a $75,000 bond, though it has since been reduced to $20,000. He is currently detained at the Sweetwater County Detention Center awaiting trial. The case highlights the dangers of domestic violence and the often-devastating impact on both spouses and children caught in the crossfire.
