Colombian Political Candidate Linked to Neo-Nazi Group Following Graffiti Cleanup Video
A recent investigation reveals concerning ties between Jorge Rodriguez, a former congressional candidate for Colombia’s right-wing Centro Democratico party, and members of the neo-Nazi organization Active Club Bogota. Footage uploaded to social media in February 2026 shows Rodriguez and several associates painting over local street art in the Restrepo neighborhood of Bogota. Notably, the group specifically targeted and obscured graffiti that contained anti-fascist slogans, including a message explicitly opposing "Creole Nazis."
Analysis of the video footage indicates that one of the individuals assisting Rodriguez bears tattoos matching those of Javier "Orlik" Ruiz, a known figure within the local neo-Nazi movement. Digital evidence further suggests a connection between the two men, as Rodriguez follows Ruiz on Instagram and the latter engaged with the candidate's post. Active Club Bogota is recognized as a local branch of an international extremist network known for hosting events that celebrate historical Nazi figures.
When approached for comment regarding these associations, both Rodriguez and Ruiz declined to address the substance of the investigation. Instead, both men issued threats of legal action, citing data protection and privacy laws in an attempt to suppress the publication of their names and images. Legal experts consulted during the inquiry maintain that the public interest surrounding the conduct of political figures and the activities of extremist groups justifies the reporting, as both individuals occupy positions within the public sphere.
