Task Force Takes Over Month-Long Search for Savannah Guthrie's Missing Mother
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has escalated the investigation into the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of "Today" show host Savannah Guthrie, by assigning the case to a dedicated task force. This development comes as the search for Ms. Guthrie reaches its 30th day, with authorities "refocusing resources" to a specialized team that includes Pima County homicide detectives and FBI agents. Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31, after family members dropped her off at her Catalina Foothills home following dinner at her daughter Annie Guthrie's residence. She was reported missing the following day when she did not appear for church.
The intensified effort follows the release of surveillance photos and videos by FBI Director Kash Patel, depicting a potential armed suspect in connection with the case. Savannah Guthrie recently visited her mother’s home, where she and her siblings laid flowers, marking her first appearance at the residence since her mother vanished. The Guthrie family is offering a reward of up to $1 million for Nancy’s safe return, contingent on FBI criteria for reward payments. The FBI is also offering a separate reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to Nancy Guthrie's location or the arrest and conviction of those involved in her disappearance. Anyone with information is urged to contact the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI or the Pima County Sheriff’s Department tip line at 520-351-4900.
