Court Filing Pinpoints Location of Teen Suspect in Cruise Ship Homicide

A recent court filing sheds light on the current living situation of the 16-year-old stepbrother implicated in the death of Anna Kepner. The teenager, identified as T.H. in legal documents, is reportedly residing with a maternal uncle, despite facing federal juvenile charges in connection with Kepner's homicide. Anna Kepner, 18, was discovered deceased aboard the Carnival Horizon in early November 2025 while on a family vacation, sharing a room with her younger brother and stepbrother.

The revelation emerged from a document filed in the ongoing divorce proceedings of T.H.'s parents. Thomas Hudson, T.H.'s father, submitted the filing to request an alteration to his child support obligations, citing the change in custody arrangements. Hudson claims that T.H.'s mother, Shauntel Kepner, "expelled" the teen from her home following his alleged involvement in serious felony offenses, referencing her previous statement that T.H. is "not welcome in her home."

Consequently, Hudson seeks to discontinue his monthly child support payments of $640.19, arguing that the maternal uncle is now financially responsible for the teenager's care. Despite the serious nature of the charges, T.H. remains outside of police custody. No hearing has yet been scheduled to address the proposed changes to the child support agreement.
