Journalist Ross Coulthart alleged that the Department of War had been given permission by President Trump to engage with UFOs and had carried out such actions in both U.S. territory and Juárez, Mexico. Harvard professor David Grinspoon, who specializes in astrobiology and exobiology, has noted that while there is growing interest in UFO studies from both the public and scientific communities, the lack of definitive information from official sources hinders serious academic research. The reluctance to fully disclose UFO-related data could be seen as a continuation of past secrecy policies rather than an effort towards greater transparency.
