Driver Faces Multiple Charges After Crashing Into Louisville Ramen Restaurant

A Louisville man faces numerous charges, including DUI and wanton endangerment, after allegedly driving his car into a local ramen restaurant and then threatening police officers. Alexis Calvillo, 29, is currently held at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections following the incident on the night of February 28 at Kiwami Ramen. His vehicle reportedly tore through the side of the building, striking a table where four individuals, including a pregnant woman, were seated.

Following the crash, Calvillo allegedly attempted to leave the scene. When confronted by Louisville Metro Police officers, he reportedly threatened them, stating, "I'm going to kill you." Officers observed a strong odor of alcohol and noted that Calvillo's speech was slurred. A subsequent search of his car revealed an open beer bottle on the passenger-side floorboard.

Calvillo faces charges including DUI, four counts of wanton endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and terroristic threatening. His bail is set at $7,500, with a court date scheduled for March 10. While no staff or patrons sustained physical injuries, the restaurant suffered significant damage and remains closed, prompting calls for community support for the business and its employees.
