Pentagon Claims No Records of Key AATIP-Era Meeting Despite Calendar Entry
The Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) states that no records exist for an August 28, 2017, meeting listed on the official calendar of Neill Tipton, then Director for Defense Intelligence, Collection and Special Programs. This determination comes from a recent Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) response to The Black Vault, which specifically requested information regarding the meeting. The OSD asserts that a thorough search of relevant systems failed to identify any records pertaining to the event.
This "no records" finding directly contradicts an earlier FOIA release that included Tipton's calendar, explicitly showing an UNCLASSIFIED "SAP Coordination Meeting" scheduled for that date. The calendar entry also contained a phone number matching one associated with Luis Elizondo's DD Form 1910 request to release three Navy UFO videos in 2017. The Black Vault has appealed the OSD's decision, citing the previously released calendar entry as evidence that the meeting was indeed scheduled.
The discrepancy raises significant questions about the meeting's nature and why official records are now absent. Elizondo's DoD IG complaint further indicates that he briefed Tipton between July and October 2017, adding to the intrigue surrounding the August 28 event. The absence of records for a meeting linked to a key figure in the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) and the release of prominent UFO videos fuels ongoing speculation and calls for greater transparency regarding the Pentagon's engagement with unidentified aerial phenomena.
