New Jersey Woman Arrested for Allegedly Sexually Assaulting a Toddler and Recording It

A 25-year-old woman from Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey, has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a two-year-old child. Victoria Cranmer was taken into custody on July 8 after an investigation that began following the discovery of videos on her iPhone.

According to court documents reviewed by the Asbury Park Press, the alleged assault occurred in May when Cranmer was staying at the victim's family home. The family had allowed Cranmer to reside with them for approximately three months while she searched for a place to live. During this period, Cranmer often watched the child while the parents were busy.

In April, the family gave Cranmer an iPhone as a birthday gift. When she moved out in May, they requested that she return the phone. Upon examining the device, the victim's family discovered several disturbing videos saved in Snapchat memories. These videos allegedly showed Cranmer sexually assaulting the toddler and laughing during the assault.

The distinctive tattoos on Cranmer’s body and her voice helped investigators identify her as the perpetrator in the recorded footage. The investigation revealed that multiple Snapchat videos were found, including one where Cranmer is seen exposing herself to the child while seated on a toilet and having the child touch her genitalia.

Further allegations emerged from a family friend who stated that Cranmer had also babysat their child and would take baths with him. After spending time with Cranmer, the child reportedly began disliking bathtime.

Cranmer was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, manufacturing child sexual abuse material, and possession of child sexual abuse material. She was arrested on July 7 and is currently being held without bail pending further legal proceedings.

This case highlights the serious risks associated with unsupervised access to children by individuals who are not family members or close relatives. It also underscores the importance of parental supervision when giving electronic devices to caregivers, especially those with internet capabilities that can be used for recording and sharing inappropriate content.
